About Mommy Makeovers
Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentation is a breast-enhancing procedure that can enhance the size, shape, and symmetry of your breasts. Breast augmentation can effectively address volume loss and deflation. Dr. Salcedo can perform this procedure using either implants or fat grafting—or a combination of both—with each approach providing unique benefits and natural-looking results.
High Def Breast Lift
A breast lift is a procedure that can improve the position and perkiness of your breasts without significantly altering their volume. (1) Dr. Salcedo can perform this procedure to address the appearance of sagging, which commonly occurs after pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Liposuction
Liposuction is a body-contouring procedure that uses a suction cannula to remove fat from around your body to redefine the contours and curves of your figure. Dr. Salcedo can perform liposuction in nearly any region where there is excess fat, including the abdomen, flanks, thighs, arms, back, and more.
Tummy Tuck
A tummy tuck is a procedure that removes excess tissue and tightens your abdominal muscles to restore a flatter, more defined stomach. (2) During pregnancy, many women develop a condition called diastasis recti, which is the separation of the abdominal muscles. Diastasis recti can lead to a decrease in core stability, which potentially impacts posture and overall core strength. (3)
Candidates
You may be a candidate for a mommy makeover if you are interested in addressing physical changes that pregnancy or breastfeeding have caused. To qualify for this procedure, you should be in good general health and maintain realistic expectations regarding your results.
You should be nonsmoking or willing to quit, have completed expanding your family, and no longer breastfeed. Dr. Salcedo will determine your candidacy when he meets with you during your consultation.
Personal Consultation
During your personal consultation, Dr. Salcedo will meet with you individually to discuss what a mommy makeover entails, determine your candidacy, and create your unique treatment plan. He will ask you about your medical history, current concerns, and aesthetic goals, as well as perform a physical examination.

Preparation
Once you have scheduled your mommy makeover, there are several steps that you will need to take to ensure you are ready for your procedure. To help you prepare, Dr. Salcedo will give you a detailed set of pre-operative instructions. He may direct you to:
- Adjust Your Medication Regimen: It is often advisable to cease the use of any medications or supplements that may thin your blood before surgical procedures.
- Arrange Transportation: Arrange a ride home from a trusted friend or family member after your mommy makeover, as you will not be able to drive yourself.
- Prepare Time Away: You will need to request time off from work and plan to take it easy for at least a couple of weeks to ensure you have enough time to let yourself rest and recover.
- Fill Your Prescriptions: Dr. Salcedo recommends picking up any medications that you may need ahead of time.
- Stop Smoking: Refrain from any nicotine use in the months leading up to your procedure, and maintain your cessation throughout your recovery.
- Avoid Alcohol: Do not drink alcohol in the days before and after your mommy makeover.
Procedure
Dr. Salcedo performs each mommy makeover in his surgical center. The duration of your procedure will depend on the details of your treatment plan, but you can expect it to take at least two hours.
Dr. Salcedo will first cleanse your skin, and then you will be placed under anesthesia. Dr. Salcedo will remove excess skin, tighten muscles, remove fat, and more. He will close incisions carefully using sutures, and you will rest under the care of The Plastics Doc team.
Recovery
Dr. Salcedo performs mommy makeovers on an outpatient basis, which means you will go home the same day as your procedure. Your exact recovery timeline will be unique to you. Generally speaking, recovery typically goes as follows:
- Week 1: Dr. Salcedo will have you return to the office for an appointment the day after your procedure. Throughout the first week, it is normal to develop bruising, swelling, or tenderness in the treated areas. Following aftercare instructions is especially important in these early stages of healing—you will need to refrain from any quick movements or strenuous activities, and focus on resting for the time being.
- Week 2: During the second week, you will return to the office for another post-operative visit. Dr. Salcedo will monitor your healing progress and remove any drains. Side effects will begin to diminish around this time, and your comfort will begin to improve. You might be able to return to light activities and desk work.
- Weeks 3-4: During this time, you will need to continue refraining from any strenuous or physically demanding activities, but you will be starting to feel like your normal self. Dr. Salcedo will have you return again for a three-week post-operative evaluation, where he will remove any remaining dressings or drains.
- Weeks 5-6: You will need to return one last time to our office for your final clearance visit. After this point, you may return to your full activities.
Results
You will be able to experience the full results of your mommy makeover once any residual swelling subsides. While your results will vary, you can enjoy more shapely and proportionate breasts, a flatter stomach, a more defined waist, as well as a more contoured and sculpted figure overall.
The results of a mommy makeover are long-lasting and provide effects that you can enjoy for several years to come. However, you will need to maintain a stable weight and a healthy lifestyle as weight fluctuations can alter the long-term results of your procedure.
Cost of Mommy Makeovers in Corona, California

FAQ
Can I breastfeed after a mommy makeover?
Breastfeeding after a mommy makeover is possible, especially if your breasts are minimally altered. However, if you are including a breast augmentation or lift as part of your procedure, it may affect your long-term ability to breastfeed. If you plan on breastfeeding after your procedure, we ask that you discuss these plans with Dr. Salcedo so he may tailor your treatment plan accordingly.
How long will it take to recover from a mommy makeover?
Your exact recovery time will vary depending on the type of corrections that Dr. Salcedo performs, as well as the overall extent of your recovery. Most patients can return to their daily activities after resting for approximately two to three weeks, but you will need to continue avoiding strenuous or high-impact activities until Dr. Salcedo has cleared you to return.
Can I still have children after my mommy makeover?
You may have children if you desire, but Dr. Salcedo advises waiting to undergo a mommy makeover until you are finished planning your family. This is because pregnancy can stretch or damage treated areas of your body, altering the results of your procedure.
How will I know what procedures will be included in my mommy makeover?
During your personal consultation, Dr. Salcedo will meet with you individually to discuss your aesthetic goals and concerns. Once he has learned more about your desired appearance and has taken the time to assess your anatomy, he will suggest the most effective combination of procedures for each of your needs.
Can Dr. Salcedo integrate nonsurgical treatments into my mommy makeover procedure?
Yes, Dr. Salcedo may integrate nonsurgical treatments, but he finds that surgical intervention achieves the most significant improvements. After he has discussed your concerns with you and has performed a physical examination, Dr. Salcedo will let you know whether he recommends adding any nonsurgical treatments to your mommy makeover.
