The Plastics Doc team has many years of experience helping patients enhance their appearance with customizable body treatments. Dr. Samuel Salcedo is a distinguished board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon known for providing high-quality care to men and women in Southern California and beyond. His research has been published in many peer-reviewed medical journals, and he has presented at both local and national conferences.

About alloClae

alloClae is an allogenic adipose tissue injectable, meaning it is made of sterile donor fat cells. Donor fat cells are an effective way to add volume to various body parts to create a smooth, youthful appearance. In addition to enhancing volume in smaller areas like the face and hands, alloClae can effectively increase the volume of larger areas like the buttocks and breasts. Specific treatments that can be done with alloClae include:

  • Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL): Instead of using liposuction to harvest fat to increase buttock volume, we can use alloClae to deliver great results with a shorter recovery.
  • Hip Dip Correction: For patients with hip dips, or indentations in the sides of the hips that interrupt the natural contour, alloClae can create smooth, accentuated, and aesthetically pleasing curves.
  • Breast Augmentation: alloClae can effectively increase breast volume without the use of synthetic implants or a patient’s own fat.
  • Liposuction Correction: alloClae can be used to restore volume and improve contours in areas where liposuction has resulted in irregularities or unwanted depressions.

alloClae Technology

alloClae is minimally processed to preserve the honeycomb structure of natural fat and remove any components that could elicit a negative immune system response. It contains viable fat cells that create a fat matrix, allowing it to maintain its structure. Over time, the formula binds with your natural tissue because it contains the same proteins, growth factors, and collagen that are already present in the body.

Benefits

alloClae offers several benefits, which include:

  • FDA-cleared technology
  • Minimally invasive treatment
  • No need for fat grafting
  • No need to have excess fat in other areas for transfer
  • Shorter, easier recovery
  • Long-lasting results
  • Versatile applications and compatibility with other treatments

Candidates

Candidates for alloClae are typically those who would like to increase the volume in the face, buttocks, hips, legs, hands, and/or breasts but do not have enough excess body fat for a fat transfer. Patients seeking alloClae injections may also wish to avoid more extensive surgical interventions, implants, and their associated risks.

Ideal patients are nonsmokers (or those willing to quit) who are in good general health and maintain realistic expectations regarding their results. Candidacy will be further determined during a consultation with Dr. Salcedo or another specialist.

Personal Consultation

Your treatment will begin with a consultation. During this meeting, we will ask about your medical history, lifestyle, medications, and aesthetic goals. Dr. Salcedo may perform a physical examination to evaluate your targeted treatment areas. If you have photographs of your desired look, we recommend that you bring them with you. With all the necessary information collected, we will create a personalized treatment plan that delivers your unique goals.

Preparation

Before receiving your alloClae injections, you will receive important preparation information. We may ask that you avoid any medications or supplements with blood-thinning properties, and nicotine and alcohol use should also be ceased multiple weeks before and after treatment. By following the guidelines provided to you, you help lay the foundation for a smooth treatment process and optimal results.

alloClae Treatment Process

On the day of your alloClae treatment, you should arrive with clean skin in comfortable clothing. We will numb the treatment area with a local anesthetic for your comfort.

Dr. Salcedo will carefully administer alloClae to a few select points in the targeted treatment area. Once the desired fullness is achieved, you may be left to rest briefly before being dismissed. The entire procedure usually takes 30 to 60 minutes, though this may vary depending on your goals.

After Your Treatment

Patients can resume their normal routines immediately after their alloClae injections, though we do recommend taking things easy for a day or two. Although the injection is minimally invasive, so you can drive yourself home afterward, we may recommend arranging transportation depending on the scale of your treatment. Over the next few weeks, the alloClae will settle into your body’s natural tissues, creating a fuller, plumper appearance in the targeted areas.

Results

alloClae The Plastics Doc Dr. Samuel Salcedo

How your results appear will depend on where you receive your alloClae injections, and what concerns you are addressing. Patients generally report seeing impressive improvements in fat distribution and volume, helping them achieve a round, plump, and youthful look. To preserve your results, you should maintain a stable body weight. If you lose or gain a significant amount of weight, your results might be impacted.

Corresponding Procedures

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers like Juvederm and Restylane add natural-looking volume to your skin to enhance the size of certain features or replace lost volume. They can serve a similar function to alloClae, but they are not fat-based and are not indicated for all the same areas as the injectable fat matrix.

Avéli® Cellulite Reduction

Avéli® cellulite reduction is a minimally invasive treatment that improves the appearance of cellulite, creating a smoother lower body appearance. Rather than add additional volume like alloClae, Avéli addresses cellulite on the thighs, body, back, and butt by releasing the fibrous bands that contribute to its appearance. Its results typically last for a year or longer.

Skin Rejuvenation

Skin rejuvenation treatments can diminish signs of aging and skin damage to rejuvenate your appearance. We offer a collection of treatments, which include chemical peels, microneedling, dermabrasion, and HydraFacial®. These treatments will remove dead skin cells, dirt, oil, and debris, allowing you to enjoy healthier, brighter, and smoother skin. Many of these treatments also raise your skin’s collagen levels, diminishing the appearance of dark spots and discoloration, improving your skin’s health, and brightening your complexion with gradual, long-term effects.

Radiofrequency Microneedling

Radiofrequency (RF) microneedling combines traditional microneedling with radiofrequency energy to enhance collagen production, improve skin texture, and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, acne scars, and other skin concerns. This treatment delivers energy deep into the skin to achieve noticeable tightening and rejuvenation over time with minimal downtime.

FAQ

How long will the results of alloClae last?

alloClae is long-lasting if you take good care of your body and maintain a stable weight. On average, alloClae lasts for years before patients seek touch-up injections.

Can alloClae address asymmetry?

Yes, alloClae can address asymmetry by restoring volume in key areas. For example, alloClae can balance the appearance of the breasts. It can also smooth irregularities in the thighs or hips.

Will I experience any swelling or side effects after my alloClae injections?

After treatment, you may experience temporary swelling or discomfort, though this will likely fade quickly. Your specialist will guide you through the aftercare process. Compared to more extensive surgical procedures like fat grafting, alloClae does not require any significant downtime.

Will I experience any pain from alloClae?

We administer a local anesthetic for your comfort; you may experience mild discomfort afterward. This typically fades within a few days.

When can I enjoy the results from alloClae?

You will likely see great changes immediately, but it can take some time for the benefits of the injectable to fully develop.

Is alloClae safe for all patients?

alloClae is considered safe for many different candidates. However, those with active skin infections or those who are pregnant or nursing may be required to delay treatment. We would be happy to help patients who are not eligible for alloClae explore alternative treatments during their consultation.
